Apologies for being away, I've been doing a bit of traveling...
I WISH!
Super Junior's Siwon tweeted a photo about Senyang, a city in China which he thought looked like Batman's Gotham City:
We asked you PopAsians about your favourite fantasy places from movies and lots of interesting places were brought up, like The Willy Wonka Chocolate Factory, Pokemon territories, the tea party in Alice in Wonderland...
Too many awesome places to mention! In fact it made me feel KINDA like I traveled.
So I thought I'd share my Top 5 favourite Film Fantasy lands, in case you felt like a bit of 'traveling', too.

Hey PopAsians, Princess Ania here with the update on Japan's Gold Disc Awards.

While we were playing hard, our fave Korean pop stars were working hard over the holidays. Here are some releases we may have missed or can still look forward to this January!
GIRLS’ GENERATION – I GOT A BOY 4th Full Album
Release Date: 1 January 2013
BROWN EYED GIRLS’ JeA – WHILE YOU WERE ASLEEP 1st Solo
Release Date: Not sure but I hope it’s soon! Let’s say January! xD
I’m sure this is just the beginning!
See you back in the PopAsia studio 7 January 2013 for the LIVE at FIVE radio shows, which you can listen to on a Digital Radio, our Android and iPhone mobile Apps and on the website: sbs.com.au/popasia.
Is it true that everyone has a twin? Apparently everyone has a twin in the world, yours is somewhere over the rainbow. Or you can simply start looking for another half by watching cartoons. Celebrities and cartoon characters have a lot in common. Many famous faces remind us of beloved on-screen memories, both animated and in puppet form.
So let’s begin with the hottest couple in town, Ken and Barbie!
Ken and Barbie: T.O.P (Big Bang) doll anyone? Yunho (TVXQ) and Jessica (SNSD) they were named in ‘Barbie & Ken Award’ 2012 and received the dolls that looked like them. Jessica previously performed the song “I’m A Barbie Girl” during one of SNSD’s previous tours. Looks like she got her wish!
Disney Tribute: Girls can simply make a huge difference by changing hair style. 2NE1’s Dara could be Belle from Beauty and the Beast and Park Bom lives 'under da sea' The Little Mermaid style.
SISTAR's Hyorin and 2NE1's Minzi both look a bit like Mulan, don't you think?
Super Junior’s Siwon - Shang as Mulan and Shindong and Eunhyuk could be The Lion King's Pumbaa and Timon.
It's not just Disney and old cartoons though - it's all over the anime world too. Check these out from Naruto:
Hyunseung(Beast) - Gaaara, Zico(Block B) - Shikamaru Nara, T.O.P(Big Bang) - Kakashi-sensei and Jia(Miss A) - Sakura Haruno, G-Dragon(Big Bang) - Naruto Uzumaki, Taemin(SHINEE) - Rock Lee
Glasses are a fashion trend that has been popular for years. Asian pop stars can totally change their look and personalities just by changing their glasses. If you wear glasses, try one of these five looks - and totally reinvent yourself!
The Professional Look: There are no other accessories that can make you look more sophisticated than a pair of solid and chunky glasses, of course. Eunjung from T-ara and Kim Hyunjoong look so sleek and smart.
The Comic Look: Wearing those oversized comic glasses, they look so - even more - adorable. Look at Lee Kikwang (Beast) and Dara (2NE1). Those glasses cover half of their beautiful faces.
Harry Potter: It seems like these Harry Potterglassesare a fantastic collector's item for not only fans, but also idols. Maybe it's impossible to own Harry Potter's magic power by wearing his glasses, but we can feel it and catch the trendof fashion immediately.
Why So Serious? Our crayon boy G-Dragon said thousand times to our girls and boys, “GET YOUR CRAY-ON!” You can also match the glasses with your hair colour like So-Hyun(4minute), Nana(After-School) and T.O.P (Big Bang). These happy candy coloured glasses are sure to make them look fun, trendy and swag.
It's Party time: At this time of year, it's time to dress up, and this last trend can leave you looking either hot or hot mess. What do you guys think of Super Junior’s Yesung’s rabbit inspired style, Kyary Pamyu Pamyu’s heart shaped glasses and Jay Chou’s 3D one?
What do you think, what's been the fashion-highlight of 2012 for you?
Sunny from Girls Generation revealed her purple hair this week, she looks great – but idols changing hair colour is not a new thing. But ever noticed that they all go similar colours? Before we get to that - here's Sunny's new 'do
What started out life as a blog about hair colour must first take a detour around some science. Or maybe we should call it an art lesson; coz that sounds more fun.
Red, blue and yellow are called called Primary colours – which means they are the basis of all the other colours we know. Mix those colours in combination with either black or white (which are called tones) and you can make any colour. Mix all of them together and you get an awful browny-green colour – not at all a fun hair colour.
Sunny’s got purple hair. So does Japanese idol Kyary Pamyu Pamyu.
Kyary’s could be a wig though, she does love to dress up. Unfortunately, she keeps her purple hair safe with a guard-shark, and we were too scared to attempt to check for wigs.
To make purple, we mix blue and red together…
Hyunseung from B2ST supplies the red hair
And T.O.P’s blue hair certainly caused some talk earlier this year.
Fellow band-member G-Dragon couldn’t decide where he fits on this Asian Pop Colour Chart and chose a bit of both
Jo Kwon opts for a greeny-blue 'do
While Shindong from Super Junior stripped the blue out all together for some fancy pink hair
And pink, on the colour scale - is so close to purple it feels like we've come full circle
So yesterday I asked you guys who your ultimate 'biases' are--the one crush who outshines all your other crushes. I took the liberty of collecting the most popular ones and making an Ultimate Bias Collage!
So what's next for PopAsia after our incredible Seoul trip and meeting Yunho from TVXQ?
TAIWANESE POP STAR LEEHOM WANG!
The superstar is finally heading to Australia April next year and I can barely contain my excitement! Have been a fan of this guy for YEARS. Way before Yunho, way before G.NA, way before Kyary..
It's like I can close a chapter of my life if I meet him. o.O
What about you, PopAsians, who's YOUR BIGGEST BIAS? Sound off in the comments section below. ^_^
Recently on the 'LIVE @ 5' show we were making bad jokes about Kpop stars – and the chatboxers got into the action too.
My best joke was What is EXO’s favourite holiday? KRIS-mas!
And then we got flooded by other jokes. I hope you’re not reading this on public transport coz you’re about to split your sides laughing.
What is BIG BANG when they take their shirts off? TOPless
How do BAP fix broken items? with Zelo Tape
What does INFINITE do at your birthday? They Sunggyu a song. A Sungyeol never forget.
How do you get Pikachu on a bus? Poke him on!
What did KEVIN say to DONGHO after he held open the door for their manager? You’re such a Kiseop
A gold star goes to this one:
How do the WONDER GIRLS greet people? How have Yubin?
But every good joke list should end with a chicken gag. You ready?
Why did the chicken cross the road? It wanted to go to an Onew world.
What’s your best/worst joke? Let us know on our Facebook wall or #SBSPopAsiaWhat’s your best/worst joke? Let us know on our Facebook wall or #SBSPopAsia
Ever had an embarrassing dance moment? Common, please tell me you have... right??
Ok, if you're there kind of nodding, but still not sure. This should warm you up...
On South Korea's MBC 'Section TV', 4Minute member and soloist in her own right, HyunA admitted poking her dancer’s eye during a routine. OWCH!
On the show, HyunA said, ‘when we were practicing, I made a mistake” and, “As my arms shifts to the back, my nail poked his eyes during the choreograph.”
Hahaha!
But that’s not all, HyunA added, “he was hurt really bad. But didn’t say anything except, “It’s okay”, please poke the other side too.’
Aww… very funny, but very nice (of the dancer that is!).
So… are you ready to admit your embarrassing dance moments yet?
For those that have been chilling with us ‘LIVE @ 5’ Monday to Friday, I’ve dug this out from Friday’s episode.
As DJ Masta Tea’smushi-mash was playing, MegaMatt was ‘rocking it out’ (with the plastic guitar) and for no good reason, Jamaica and I decided to pick on him.
The music was on, we were all bopping... and then have a look at what happens…
I decide to take my moves to another level... a side shuffle kick here and there... and then, notice the green figure flying in the air?
That’s my shoe!!
Haha awkward and embarrassing, but that’s what you call, really getting into it! ;)
Hope that warms you up now... can't wait to hear your stories =)
Remember that this time last year, everyone was eagerly awaiting the first Kpop Music Fest in Sydney? I was lucky enough to host the press conference and be one of the first to see the twelve Korean pop acts. They’re a dazzling bunch, but pop duo TVXQ are just on another level (this is NOT the first time you’ve heard me say this), especially when you see them in person. Tall, lean and confident, they exude the charismatic aura of successful veterans.
Which is why I proceeded to do THIS the next Monday on PopAsia Radio:
To our surprise the video went viral among the Cassiopeia (TVXQ official fanclub) circles. From thereon Yunho was dubbed my “dark vampire prince” within PopAsia’s own circles.
*EMBARRASSING*
Nearly a year later I was invited to special co-host the ABU TV Song Festival in Seoul, which showcases some of the most popular Asian pop acts from the Asia Pacific. Pop group Girls’ Generation was reported to be representing South Korea, and their member Tiffany was supposed to be the main female co-host.
As fate would have it, Girls’ Generation had to pull out of the event because of conflicting schedules, and TVXQ replaced them. Tiffany couldn’t host either, so I became the main female host.
I knew it was a great honour, but I didn’t know how MASSIVE it was until we were ALL backstage. It was like an out-of-body experience, rehearsing lines with Japanese pop group Perfume, who were wearing fluffy slippers, like I would rehearse back home with another PopAsia host. Later when the show was about to start I was rushing to my place when I tripped over someone really tall…someone really YUNHO. He and Changmin were ‘gonna go out before me and all the while I was playing it cool, trying to remember my part in the whole. It was all so ORDINARY, the things we were doing, but I guess that’s what made it so amazing.
Standing on the same stage as TVXQ, and introducing them to the audience.
EPIC.
Later still I would shake their hands, telling them well-done, noting that Changmin’s the smiley one. Backstage he’d dash off first so I only caught Yunho, who takes a photo with me and tells me to enjoy the rest of my evening.
Yep, that story’s come full circle. Thanks for being with us that whole time, PopAsians!
Congratulations ELFs(Super Junior fans) your boys have stood the test of time and today (6 November 2012) you all celebrate SuJu’s lucky 7th anniversary.
Now, the members also celebrated the milestone in October (picture above), to share the moment with leader Leeteuk, who’s now left to serve his time in the army. Boo! :,(
For all the ELFs out there though, the party continues! (but MegaMatt has eaten the cake :P)
